Jose Valdes is a graduate of the University of Miami where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, in 1985 and his Juris Doctor degree, also Cum Laude, in 1988.
His areas of practice include general, civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis in the fields of insurance defense, personal injury as well as insurance coverage litigation, insurance bad faith, Guardian Ad Litem in probate cases, professional liability, litigation and commercial disputes. Over the years, Mr. Valdes has enjoyed a membership in several professional associations, including the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, and Coral Gables Bar Association.
The firm is honored that Mr. Valdes is only one of five lawyers in the State of Florida that has a permanent license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury Department to travel the island of Cuba on litigation and probate matters involving wrongful death claims, inheritance cases, conducting public records searches, engaging in depositions and other forms of discovery, and testifying as an expert witness on issues of Cuban law.
